01 / GAME OVERVIEW

ULTIMATE TEXAS HOLD’EM

Ultimate Texas Hold’em is not player-versus-player poker. You and the dealer each combine two hole cards with five community cards. Equal Ante and Blind wagers begin the hand, and the Play wager may be made only once.

KNOW WHAT WINS BEFORE YOU WAGER.
02 / HOW TO PLAY • QUICK FLOW
  1. 01Place matching Ante and Blind wagers plus optional Trips.
  2. 02Review two hole cards: raise 3×/4× or check.
  3. 03If still live, review the flop: raise 2× or check again.
  4. 04After the river, raise 1× or fold; dealer then reveals and qualifies with a pair or better.
03 / BASIC STRATEGY

STRONG PRE-FLOP HANDS EARN THE 4× LEVERAGE

A practical 4× foundation is any pair except deuces, any ace, suited king, suited Q–6+, suited J–8+, offsuit K–5+, offsuit Q–8+, and J–10. Checking is not failure—it preserves later 2× and 1× decisions for marginal hands.

04 / MASTERY NOTES

Do not wait with clear strength

The largest Play wager is available only before the flop. Slow-playing a qualifying 4× hand gives up the game’s most valuable decision point.

Trips is not a rescue bet

Trips pays only from your final five-card poker hand. It does not change whether the correct main-game action is raise, check, or fold.

05 / DETAILED HOW TO PLAY

THE COMPLETE ROUND

  • Ante and Blind must be equal. Trips is optional and is based only on the final player poker hand.
  • At the first decision, raise 3× or 4× the Ante or check. A raise ends all later Play decisions.
  • After a check, the three-card flop creates a 2× raise opportunity. Checking again moves to the river decision.
  • After all five community cards appear, the final choice is 1× or fold. Dealer then reveals and needs a pair or better to qualify for the Ante.
06 / STRATEGY PLAYBOOK

WHAT TO PRACTICE NEXT

  • Pre-flop strength is evaluated from only two hole cards, but the 4× size rewards acting before uncertainty is resolved.
  • On later streets, count made hands, board pairs, flush cards, straight connections, and dealer outs rather than relying on the visual appeal of the flop.
  • Keep the main game and Trips accounting separate. Trips may win when the main game loses or folds, and vice versa.
