THREE CARD POKER

This is a single-player casino table game against the dealer. You receive three cards, then either fold the Ante or make an equal Play wager. The dealer needs queen-high or better to qualify.

  2. 02Receive three face-up player cards; dealer cards remain hidden.
  3. 03Raise with an equal Play wager or fold the Ante.
  4. 04Dealer reveals, qualification is checked, and main and bonus wagers settle.
03 / BASIC STRATEGY

PLAY Q–6–4 OR BETTER; FOLD THE REST

Compare high-card hands lexicographically: first card, then second, then third. Q–7–3 beats Q–6–4 because the second card is higher. Any pair, flush, straight, trips, or straight flush is automatically above the Q–6–4 threshold.

Read the borderline correctly

With queen-high, play Q–7–x; with Q–6, play only Q–6–4 or better. Practicing the few close hands removes nearly all hesitation.

Keep Pair Plus independent

Pair Plus and 6 Card Bonus do not improve a weak Ante/Play decision. Judge the main hand first, then let each bonus settle on its own paytable.

05 / DETAILED HOW TO PLAY

THE COMPLETE ROUND

  • Three-card rankings differ from five-card poker: straight flush, three of a kind, straight, flush, pair, then high card.
  • The Ante begins the comparison game. Pair Plus and 6 Card Bonus are optional and settle from their own hand conditions.
  • After seeing three cards, folding loses the Ante. Playing requires an additional wager equal to the Ante.
  • Dealer qualifies with queen-high or better. When the dealer does not qualify, Ante wins and Play pushes; bonuses still resolve independently.
06 / STRATEGY PLAYBOOK

WHAT TO PRACTICE NEXT

  • Sort three unrelated ranks from highest to lowest before comparing with Q–6–4. This prevents a weak queen from being played just because it contains a queen.
  • Any pair or made poker hand is above the high-card threshold and should continue automatically.
  • Ante Bonus can pay on strong player hands regardless of dealer qualification, but it never changes whether a marginal high-card hand meets Q–6–4.
