BLACKJACK 21

Blackjack is a comparison game: finish with a stronger hand than the dealer without exceeding 21. A two-card ace with a ten-value card is a natural blackjack and pays 3:2 at this table.

LET THE DEALER UPCARD DRIVE THE DECISION

Stand on hard 13–16 against dealer 2–6, but with hard 12 stand only against 4–6. Hit those totals against dealer 7–Ace and stand on hard 17 or more. Learn soft totals and pairs separately; always split aces and eights, and never split tens or fives.

Protect the 3:2 game

Prefer blackjack paying 3:2 and avoid insurance unless you are using a proven count. Insurance is a separate wager, not protection for a good hand.

Master doubles and splits

These high-leverage choices are where memorization pays most. Drill them until the response is automatic before adding side-bet attention.

05 / DETAILED HOW TO PLAY

THE COMPLETE ROUND

  • A natural blackjack is specifically the first two cards totaling 21; a later three-card 21 is not a natural and does not receive the 3:2 premium.
  • A soft hand contains an ace currently counted as 11. Hitting cannot bust it immediately because the ace can fall back to 1.
  • Doubling adds one equal wager, deals exactly one more card, and ends the player decision. Splitting creates two hands and requires a matching wager.
  • After every player hand is complete, the dealer reveals the hole card and follows fixed S17 rules without discretion.

WHAT TO PRACTICE NEXT

  • Classify the hand before acting: hard total, soft total, or pair. Each category has its own decision map.
  • Dealer 2–6 is the weaker upcard zone; avoid unnecessary bust risk. Dealer 7–Ace is stronger, so passive low totals usually need improvement.
  • Judge Dealer Match and TriLux independently from the main hand. A side-bet win never changes the correct hit, stand, double, or split decision.
